This Fisherman sandals are a well-made, well crafted shoe…and very comfortable. I wear between a 6 and a 6.5B and found the 6/6.5 size to be just right. For the summer they are just right width-wise, and for the winter, when my feet aren’t affected by the heat, i suspect these shoes will fit well with socks.February 29, 2016:This is the first time that I have tried the Alegria Pesca, size 40M, Color: Bronze Easy.I like the fact that it is a mild rocker sole so that the chances of me twisting my ankle to the side is greatly reduced compared to the rocker sole of the Alegria Seville Pro (which is the first Alegria shoe that I tried and kept). Now, having said this, I don't know if the thinner sole will be as comfortable when I am walking for hours on a hard surface like sidewalks, concrete floors, etc. The Seville Pro offers more cushioning with the thicker rocker sole. Unfortunately it is winter where I live and I have only been wearing the shoes indoors. I will have to edit my review once I know more. The mild-rocker sole is just as comfortable as the full rocker sole. It is like walking on clouds. The size is another question. The length of the shoe is fine. I have never worn any larger than a size 10US (40EU), but I may have to consider the 10.5US (41EU) for this shoe. The toe box is adequate width-wise, but not depth-wise which I have since read that another reviewer made the same comment.. Also, a few reviewers mention that this style runs small, so the bigger size may be in order. I have a high instep, and I feel the shoe pressing down from my great toe all of the way up to my instep on both feet. This is bothersome as it cuts off my circulation just enough to make my toes fall asleep. I have come up with a solution, but it is not perfect. I have installed the older insoles from my Seville Pros, and this has taken off some of the pressure, but not enough. I have read other reviews on Amazon about the Alegria wide insoles making the regular Alegria shoe into a wide shoe. I am considering trying this as I cannot change my instep and I don't think that a bigger shoe will help (a size 41EU or 10.5US shoe has always been too big for my liking). I guess that I will have to let you know at a later date if I try the wide insole. The color takes some getting used to. It is called 'Bronze Easy', and it is shiny and has a greenish, coppery iridescence. I had orderedan Alegria Kayla Pro in the Bronze Vine colour that was shiny (I returned these shoes), but the color was more coppery. I thought the Bronze Easy would be the same, but it was not. It has taken a little getting used to.The style of the shoe is great with the cut-outs to keep my feet cool. Right now, as it is still winter, I am wearing them with socks in the house to break them in.March 1, 2016: I returned the Alegria Pesca shoes. I recently received a size 10.5US (41EU) Alegria Kayla Pro, and they are not too big. Except for the instep which I have to break-in, there are no other issues. I had previously tried the Kayla Pro in a size 10US (40EU), and they were not comfortable, so I returned them. I took a chance on trying the 10.5US (41EU). Therefore, I may have to try the Alegria Pesca in a size 10.5US (41EU) after all. I am glad that I sent the size 40EU Pesca back.I thought it would be a little stiff, but I walked in it the first day for several hours without any problems. There is plenty of room for orthotics, but I ended up not needing my orthotics because the footbed that came with them was so supportive. Very happy with my purchase, and I will buy this brand again.Fit perfectly no break in time true to sizeDo pay attention to what Alegria states as sizing on this shoe; I'm usually a "39" in European sizing, which is equal to a size 8 U.S. in Merrel, Keen, Clarks shoes. However, the "38" in this shoe fits well (and Alegria states 38EU = 8US in their shoes). If I'd ignored their sizing charts and bought my usual size 39 they would have been too big.I work 10-hr shifts; I've worn these to work twice now with lightweight socks (I do this with all 'new' shoes initially) and they have been VERY comfortable to wear. The sole is not as heavy-feeling as I thought it might be, though this is also one of Alegria's THINNER soles. My feet require some decent arch support; I thought I might have to put an additional arch cushion in these shoes, but so far so good. The insole is soft but supportive; I can't wait for it to warm up enough here in the Colorado Rockies so I can wear them barefoot. The pricing is about the same for this shoe all over the Internet, so I bought them at Amazon. I LOVE the 'Happy Days' summery-floral print! My shoes don't need to be matchy-matchy with my clothes, and I like seeing those bright, colorful flowers & leaves on my feet. Be brave, gals!I have new made to fit orthotics. The area at the ball of my foot is stiff. I have problems finding shoes that will take this configuration. This shoe did. My feet are also flat like a thin pancake. I had to use 2 extra flat inserts in addition to the orthotics to get them to fit. Well worth it. I like this style of shoe because I must wear good shoes all day, even in the house; my feet get very hot enclosed in a traditional sneaker type shoe. These keep the air flowing. I don't care for all of the color selection -- burnished (in other words - sparkly) is not what I want in a shoe that fits my 10 1/2 nor my 73 years. I all ready have a fishermen in brown from Dr. Comfort. These 2 should take care of me for awhile. I kept ordering shoes, trying them and returning. These will not be returned. This is my second pair of Fisherman shoes. I just love them more than any other Alegria shoes and I have at least 2 more going any given time of the year. They also last forever. I will keep buying them.I kept these shoes and wanted to like them more than I do, but I've had to do quite a bit of work to them to get them to work with my feet. I love the Alegria brand as it's been one of the main brands to help me with my newly developed mild plantar fasciitis. However, there were a few problems with this particular style of shoe that cause them to not be 100% for me.First of all, my left foot is the foot with PF, and the left shoe actually had more leather and elastic in the adjustable strap than the right side, so they were uneven and wanting to flop on my foot. The right side did too, but not as much, so overall the heels were too big. I put heel thickening pads in the back but that didn't work. I love the arch support enough that I took them to a good cobbler to fix the way they adjust at the buckles and take out the extra leather, but now that they are adjusted properly, the elastic pulls on my skin and rubs it. Hoping some moleskin will help that.I wish they would have just worked out of the box like my other Alegrias did.The Fisherman's Sandal is my favorite shoe. It's basically the only one I wear except for church. My only wish is that you would once again sell the one I bought first of all, which was the Bronze Easy. Now I can't find that one anywhere. Will you ever make them again?- RosanneGreat quality and very comfortable.
